Sneak peek

Well after another very wet weekend I've woken up to some sunshine which according to the weather forecast is only going to last today. I've even got some washing outside, the first time for absolutely ages.

I've finished off the last of my 18 samples for Crafter's Companion for two launches and these are for the first launch on Thursday. They are some new Reddy Decoupage called professions. There is also some beautiful new embossed Core'dinations. I love this card as it looks so good sanded and/or torn. I've used spray and shine on the decoupage and a stamped sentiment from the Popcorn Pals range.

I would like to enter this into the no designer paper challenge at Fab n funky.

My second card uses some gingham paper from Beatrix Potter and some of the lovely satin ribbon from Crafter's Companion again with some of the sanded Core'dinations.

I'll be back shortly with my last GDT card for The Stamp Basket.

A touch of Spring

This weather really is unbelievable, pouring with rain again. Despite the awful weather yesterday the food and craft fair was a great success. Lots of lovely customers, loads of money raised for MacMillan Nurses and I had my best ever sales. I sold 25 cards and almost £15 worth of crafty stash. Need to get crafting to replace them as I have loads of craft fairs over the Summer. My next craft fair is on Wednesday, thankfully another indoor venue. Its such a nice social thing to do, especially as I work from home. There are always other cardmakers who like to rummage through my stash for sale and have a good chat.

I have another bag to share with you today, this time using one of the gorgeous Pollycraft bears, which has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I have used the lush Papermania Henbury Lane papers, DI Tattered Rose, MS border punch and Memory Box Willow Dragonfly and butterfly dies with kraft card.

Here's a close up of the image. I like trying different colour combos and as the pink is so bright went for a paler teddy. I used saffron, vanilla and primrose.

Wedding Day

Our challenge this week at Totally Gorjuss is Congratulations, so plenty of scope there. I had an order for a Wedding Card in lilac and here it is. I used one of the big die cuts from LOTV edged in DI Milled Lavender. The flowers on the die cut were pink but were easily changed with the aid of a Promarker. I used some Tilda 12" papers which I bought at the NEC. I added some lace, Papermania stamped sentiment, MS punched hearts, silver heart pins and a gorgeous Prima flower which was part of my Christmas pressy from my good friend Lisa. These flowers look too lovely to use, but that is what they are for, not just to sit in a box, so I am determined to use those things we just look at and don't use.

I love blue and brown together and am loving these new Bo Bunny papers I bought at the NEC. I used Memory Box scroll and frostyville border dies. For the later I used paper from the pack rather than card and am really pleased with the effect.I distressed the edges and used DI Vintage Photo.

Keep calm and drink tea

Whew, what is this weather all about. It poured yesterday, about 4pm the sun came out and then after about an hour and a half poured again even harder, lightning and hail thundering down. It was a sunny start but now it's clouded over so I expect it will be raining soon. I was out all day yesterday but after some housework need to get on with lots of crafting.

I love these keep calm sayings and images and bought this one from Pink Gem a few days ago. I love the fact that you get a clear image and a coloured image. I used the coloured image as I love the Union Jack patterns and I also have a lot of Crafter's Companion samples to make. I used Dovecraft Tea House papers and bunting, available at The Craft Barn, cupcake embossing folder with sanded Core'dinations, MS doily punch and baker's twine.

Cute as a button

I'm back with a completely different card to this morning's creation. I decided to create a patchwork background to this cute LOTV baby. He is a diecut square but as his outfit was all white I used Promarkers and Flexmarkers to add some colour to his hat and blanket. Papers are Papermania Blueberry Pie. I used my lovely Memory Box button die and added a couple of buttons too. The sentiment is also LOTV and I found the perfect charm in my stash.

Vintage bicycle

Another rainy morning here. I don't think we have had a day without rain at some point of the day since they announced the hosepipe ban.

I love making these vintage/shabby chic style cards and recently bought a gorgeous A5 sheet from Crafty Sentiments which has loads of useful stamps on it to create this look. The bike, watch and postage stamps are all from the A5 sheet. I stamped them with DI Vintage Photo onto kraft. Papers are Bo Bunny et cetera which I distressed. I used my fave MS cherish border punch and some seam binding which has also been coloured with Vintage Photo. I added some tiny buttons to finish.

This is a guest designer card for anything goes with kraft at Party Time Tuesday. At the moment this isn't showing up on their challenge but I have left them a comment.

Is there a Doctor in the house?

I'm back with a card to share with you. Please scroll down for my GDT bag for The Stamp Basket, where they currently have some yummy papers on sale.

I've used this gorgeous Doctor stamp from Crafty Sentiments coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I used a Go Kreate tag die to cut him out and a MS simple scallop border punch. The papers are Papermania Hampstead, which I found in my drawer. I haven't used these for ages, yet I love the colours and textures of them. I've added some ribbon and a metal scroll.

I used the fab sketch at Truly Scrumptious and would like to enter the punches and dies challenge at Fussy and Fancy.

No layers!!!!!!

Oh, what a day. I had some very sad news this morning that my oldest friend had finally lost her battle with cancer. She was 70 and had been very happily married for 50 years. This last week she had gone really downhill so I had been expecting her to go any day but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with. At least she isn't suffering any longer. Thanks to all my Facebook friends who have left me such supportive comments.

I was meant to be selling at a craft fair today but just couldn't face it, especially as it was outside and the weather is so changeable. I have kept myself busy and have come up to my craftroom and thought I would share these cards with you. Those who know me well will be very surprised to see no layers or embellishments. I have been making some 4" cards to sell in packs of two. I have several sheets of the Penny Black transparent stamps which I love but some of the images are quite small, but perfect for these little cards.  I wasn't sure if I could use Promarkers on them stamped direct on to the cards but they worked perfectly. I added some faux stitching with a fineliner around each one. Sometimes it is good to try something completely different.
Challenges:
Penny Black No patterned papers
PaperPlay Animal antics
Papertake A stitch in time

This is my second post today. Please scroll down for a Humphrey card. I must say I am quickly getting used to the new blogger interface and I like it.

Humphrey launches today

This is a scheduled post, so hope it works OK.

Yes, the wait is over for all you Humphrey fans. The new stamps and CD launch today. I have used one of the gorgeous new stamps and papers from the previous Humphrey CD. I used my MS cherish border punch and a Tim Holtz on the edge die, added some faux stitching and made some bunting using a small Nestie and some Core'dinations. I also used a doily which I left white for a change. The sentiments are from the stamp set too.

Car wash

I'm back with my second DT project today, this time for Totally Gorjuss, where our challenge is Boy's Toys. We are sponsored this week by Heather's Hobbie Haven.

We sorted out our photo albums and I have so many photos I want to do layouts for, Unfortunately I only have a couple of photos of my hubby as a little boy and I love this one as it shows his love of cars and in particular keeping them clean, started at a very early age. I took a photo of him a few days ago as I had the idea for this layout. I've given it a distressed look, with lots of torn and distressed edges. The papers are K&Co and Bo Bunny, from various packs. I made the memo page by punching holes and then cutting into each one and adding a Tim Holtz clip. The cogs were made with a TH die and Core'dinations which I heat embossed. I finished off with some journalling and foam letters.

Typical boy

Well what a challenge this morning to find that the blogger interface has changed. I have been expecting it but oh boy, is it different. Looks much more modern but will take some getting used to I think, finding out where everything is.

I was very pleased to be asked to be a guest designer this week at Send a Smile 4 Kids. The DT were sent some digi images from the sponsor Karen's Doodles and I chose to use this one. Isn't he just a typical boy, all grubby and sticking plasters. He has been coloured with PMs. I've used a sheet of the old faithful Dovecraft papers, which I distressed. I used eyelets for the first time for months and some baker's twine. The football was cut from a sheet of card I bought about 5 years ago, sentiment and candi from Craftwork Cards.

Meow

What a morning. I was just in the middle of sorting out lots of card photos in Photoshop when there was a huge power surge and the electricity went mad.Things were beeping, the phone and broadband were going on and off, on and off, so I had to power the laptop down. We rang up and they said they were sending somebody to fix it. Thankfully it was only off for about an hour and a half so I can finally post this card. A quick post from me now as I am off to visit my Mum this afternoon.

I've used one of the gorgeous die cuts from Little Claire, teamed with Papermania capsule papers. I added some ribbon, an LOTv sentiment, embossed and punched hearts.

Beauty and The Beast

This is my second post for today. Please scroll down for Humphrey.

I have a friend who often asks me to make special cards for her and this one was for her daughter Lucie's Birthday. They have just come back from a holiday in Florida with their husbands and Lucie's Favourite film is Beauty and The Beast. I was asked to make a Disney themed card and this is what I came up with. It is an 8 x 8 card and I printed out a photo from one of our trips to Orlando. As the original story is French I believe, the characters appear in France in EPCOT's World Showcase.

I remembered I had some paper from Michaels with the Eiffel Tower on it, stamped the grunge postcard from LOTV and used DI Vintage Photo on everything. I added some ribbon and punched stars and wrote on the postcard as a reminder of their holiday.

Challenges:

Letters and Roses

I'm back with my second post for today. Please scroll down for my Humphrey sneak peek.

This is my third guest designer card for The Stamp Basket.

I have used the gorgeous new Bildmalarna Letters and Roses stamp. The card blank is Craftwork Cards on the edge elegant one and I decide to try something different with this card. I wanted to show off the beautiful birds on the Prima Meadowlark paper so stuck part of a sheet direct to the card and then cut it out following the shape of the card. I then mounted the die cut image onto more of the same paper and added some cream vintage ribbon. She has been coloured with Promarkers ad Flexmarkers and I paper pieced her dress to match the backing paper.

The large Prima Meadowlark flowers match the papers so beautifully and I added some tiny flowers and some Hobby House pearls to the flowers and to her bouquet.

Ally Pally

I hadn't planned to spend too much at Ally Pally yesterday but I blew the budget and dipped into the credit card just a little. So many tempting goodies and I really wanted some Memory Box dies as I am finding them so lovely to use, the card just falls out of the die, no prodding around to get them out. I restricted myself to 5 and only bought 2 stamps and 1 paper pad. It's Bo Bunny and such gorgeous blues and browns, very vintage. I also bought some die cuts from Little Claire and LOTV as I have so many craft fairs coming up I will need to make some quicker cards and these are ideal.

I met so many lovely people including Vicky, Teresa, Jo, Heidi and Steve at Little Claire, Leoni Pujol, Jayne at Stamposaurus, Jacqui and Claire at Crafter's Companion and also bumped into Nandia, one of my CC DT members.
Here I am with Vicky and Teresa.

I'm feeling tired tonight after three days away and two days of walking round shows, first The Gadget Show Live and then BSSB so I'm going to leave adding a card and will wait until tomorrow when hopefully I will feel fresher. Have lots to share with you this week. Need to catch up with visiting you too.

Waving hello to my lovely two new followers, Annie and Teresa.

And another sneak peek

I've scheduled this post for Sunday morning as I've been away for a few days. We had two nights in Birmingham and went to The Gadget Show Live, then drove down to Ally Pally on Saturday where I went to the BSSB show. I'll be busy this morning food shopping and sorting out the washing so am sharing another sneak peek from the A-May_zing CD with you. (See post above for launch details.)
I'll be back later with a pic of my new stash hopefully.
There are some lovely images and papers on this CD. I've used this lovely butterfly decoupage, papers and ribbon and buckle all from the CD. I just added some MS punched butterflies, which I sprayed with Spray and Sparkle, and gems.

Bling it on!

Hope Mr Blogger is playing nicely and publishing my scheduled posts. I'll be having fun at the Ally Pally today and no doubt making a few crafty purchases.

Our challenge at Totally Gorjuss this week is Bling it on and we are sponsored by the wonderful Crafter's Companion, toot toot. I've used a gorgeous Pip from Sugar Nellie coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. The papers are MME Blink of an Eye. I do love the bright colours of these. I coloured some builder's scrim with a Promarker and added some vintage seam binding, Prima flowers, spacers and brads and a gold bow. Quite subtle bling which is how I like it.

Friday 13 April 2012

Pretty in Pink

I've scheduled my DT card for Winter Wonderland as I will be away at The Gadget Show Live in Birmingham. It's hubby's treat as he is drives me to craft shows. Talking of which we will be travelling to the BSSB Show at Ally Pally on Saturday. He is going off for a wander around the area whilst I have a browse round and make a few purchases.

Anyway, back to my card. Our challenge has been set by my good friend Lynsey and it is Pretty in Pink. Very appropriate as this is her favourite colour. I used an old DCWV Rose Tinted Christmas paper and added some scrim and ribbon. The gorgeous Simply Sassy girl has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and I added some doodling. The digi sentiment is from Crafty Sentiments and the tree is from a Tilda paper pad.

There's a £10 voucher from Crafty Emma's Store to be won so hope you'll be playing along.

Thursday 12 April 2012

It's another sneak peek from Nigel May's A-May-Zing CD (see post above). This is one of the card companions which make a really quick card. The tag and bow come with the card companion too so I just added some gems in the 3 corners. Simples.

The ribbon and gems are from the Beatrix Potter set.

I would like to enter this into the photo challenge at Papercrafting Journey. I'll be back shortly with my Crafty Sentiments DT card.

Sophia Wishes

Happy Easter Monday. I hope you are enjoying the long weekend. I'm here with my second guest designer card for The Stamp Basket. I was asked to choose two images from the new Sarah Kay stamps and what a job that was. They are so gorgeous. You can find the whole range here at the Stamp Basket.

I have used the gorgeous Sophia Wishes. I love the old fashioned look of these images and decided to colour her in brown tones to tie in with the beautiful Prima Nature Garden papers. I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the paper and image and also on the chalk white seam binding. This seam binding is lovely as it is but can also be coloured with alcohol pens or Distress Inks to match your project. The corners were made using a Memory Box Macarena Die.

Sail away

Happy Easter everyone. Here I am back with my second post this morning and a quick post it will be as Hubby is decorating and needs to unplug the internet, eeeek!
I hope you will check out my card below. This one is using a very cute image from Pollycraft. As you know I love making boy's cards and this one was no exception. He has been coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers, Sakura clearstar pen for detail. I've used a Forever Friends embossing folder with Core'dinations which I then sanded. Papers are some Christmas Papermania ones edged with DI Faded Jeans. I used my MS cherish punch, added some ribbon and a little charm from The Works tied with baker's twine. Sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

A-May-Zing sneak peek

Nigel May is launching an A-May-Zing CD and the Crafter's Companion DT were asked to make samples. The launch CD will be exclusive to Ideal World, and will be launching on C&C at 9pm on Thursday 19th April as the launch of the C&C Birthday event. There's something for all occasions on this CD and here's my first sneak peek using one of the Pyrimage images. The papers are also from the CD. I used my my MS heart punch, some satin ribbon and roses from Wild Orchid.

I'll be back shortly with another card.

Let's get sewing

I'm a bit later than usual with my card today as I decided to get my washing and housework done first. Then my friend Lynsey Facetimed me on my IPad so we had a good chat and a look at each other's cards and suddenly it is lunchtime. (FacTime in case you don't know is like Skype.)

I really love this vintage style of card and bought a sewing set of digi silhouettes from The Crafty Pad yesterday. I've just found out I won their monthly challenge so I'll be choosing some more digis as my prize, thanks. The backing paper, which is a paper pattern is from a 12 x 12 pad from Michaels. I've used DI Vintage Photo, a Memory Box button die with kraft card and sewn with raffia, lace, buttons and a sewing machine charm.

April preview

Good morning from a wet and windy Norfolk. You certainly wouldn't want to be dressed like Primrose today. Today sees the preview of 6 new fabulous rubber stamps  from Crafty Sentiments Designs. These will be released on 10 April but you have the chance to win 3 of them simply by commenting every day on the Crafty Sentiments Designs Monthly Challenge Blog where you will find inspiration every day from the DT. This is mine using Primrose Garden Flowers. I haven't made a stepper card for ages. I used Kars Country Rose papers one of which is glittered. I coloured the image with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and used DI tattered Rose around the edges. I always find decorating these cards a challenge as they don't look right overloaded with embellies so I have kept mine fairly simple.

Don't forget the monthly challenge of Easter is still running until 9 April so hop over and join in with that too.

Challenges:
ABC DT Anything Goes
Simon Says Use your favourite tool (Mine is my Bigshot which I used for the Nestie)
Kaboodle Doodles Anything but a rectangle
Incy Wincy Pastels
Secret Crafter Shaped card

Easter

This is probably the last Easter card I have to share with you and it's a fairly simple one. I have used one of the LOTV die cuts, a Card Companion from the Paintbox Poppets CD, some gingham paper from Papermania Blueberry Pie, Crafty Sentiments digi sentiment, pearls and ribbon.

I'm having a crafting day today as have lots to get done, so must crack on after linking this card to the following Easter challenges:
